Today, there are around 350,000 wild elephants left in Africa (the equivalent of the population of the city of Nice) – there were still more than a million forty years ago… This large-format, all-cardboard album, with full-page photographs, sets out to meet this extraordinary animal in its natural environment. A documented text at the end of the book describes both the lifestyle of elephants, the threats that weigh on them, but also the prevention and protection that have been put in place and give hope of conserving this animal, present on Earth for millions of years. The author of this book, Franck Bordas, spent more than forty years traveling through reserves and national parks in 15 countries in East and Southern Africa. Today, he devotes himself to meeting and studying the last populations of elephants, bearing witness to the life of the largest land animal through his photographs and stories. Beautiful photos, in an elephantine format! Author: Franck Bordas
