In this large encyclopedic book, Joëlle Jolivet offers us a history of costume throughout the world and through the ages. Made in linocut and colored with gouache, the plates of this beautiful book are full of what we have been able to invent to dress ourselves, adorn ourselves, play sports, work, do our hair or wear our shoes... We will also discover there, hidden under shutters, the underwear of a princess, a samurai, an Inuit… At the end of the book, a short historical presentation of each theme by Caroline Laffon.
