Licofarma is a research and production company with over twenty years of experience in the field of natural antioxidants and their use in the development of functional food supplements and cosmetics with targeted action, designed as a valid natural support for people's health and well-being.
Behind Licofarma there is the story of two brothers, two chemical engineers, Leonardo and Consiglio Rescio, who have always been passionate about eco-sustainable extraction processes of natural substances. After years of study, training and experience accumulated within large multinationals in the chemical-pharmaceutical sector, in 1998, the Rescio brothers, attracted by the numerous beneficial properties of Lycopene, decided to pour all their knowledge into the development and implementation of an innovative, completely ecological extraction process. An ambitious project which in 2004 led them, together with their research team, to patent the production process of organic lycopene extracted from tomatoes with carbon dioxide (CO2) in supercritical conditions. Then, in 2012, all the accumulated know-how merged into a new company, Licofarma, in which, today, in addition to carrying out research activities on natural antioxidants, their use in the production of food supplements and functional cosmetics is studied.
