Ukiyo Yuzu - Citrus Gin: Ukiyo Yuzu Citrus Gin skillfully combines the rich aromas of juniper, mandarin and spices, then adds the distinctive essence of yuzu to create a vibrant, citrus-rich gin. Yuzu, a fruit prized in Japan, offers a unique sensory experience with its powerful fragrance, its unique herbaceous notes, a slight bitterness and a subtle acidity which distinguish it from lemon and grapefruit. Originally from Kagoshima, Ukiyo Blossom & Yuzu gins are made from a harvest of rice distilled in a shōchū still, then subjected to a second distillation with juniper, mandarin and spices. Finally, delicate sakura flowers and yuzu lemon are infused to bring a finishing touch to this traditional Japanese gin, masterfully distilled in the imposing wake of the Sakurajima volcano.
