Nature Wax (660-55M) - Rapeseed / Coconut Wax - Various Sizes

Nature Wax 660-55M:  Rapeseed / Coconut Wax (additive - free). LiveMoor were proud to be the first company to supply this brand new wax from Nature Wax Nature Wax 660-55M is a Rapeseed Coconut Wax and contains no additives whatsoever. This newly developed wax comes in solid block form and comes packed in 10kg slabs from the manufacturer. For smaller quantities we break the wax down at our on-site processing centre into smaller, more manageable lumps / shards. Originally developed for high (natural) fragrance levels in container candles, where the fragrance helps to plasticise the wax and reduces its tendency to crack. This wax works really well for wax melts and container candles and performs best with high fragrance loads of around 12%. The max fragrance load of this wax is around 15% when tested by the team here at LiveMoor. This wax melts at 50 °C and has a recommended pouring temperature of between 55-60 °C. This wax has been chosen by a high-end fragrance house in France, where it was the only one with the desired odour and stability.  On its own, and in the absence of fragrance, it is rather hard and brittle; so for non-fragranced or lightly fragranced candles we would suggest blending with a softer base wax. It has also been tested in poured t-lights and melts, where the bright white colour and smooth crystallisation is appreciated. Other Info: Composition : Based on Rapeseed and Coconut vegetable oils. 100% plant-based, no additives. This wax is free from Palm, Soy, GM, Paraffin, Additives and is also considered Halal, Vegan Friendly and Kosher. Uses T-lights: Originally developed for a project to make 100% vegetable t-lights (it has a very light/white colour), with the additional constraint of palm-free and no soy/GM. Has a very low odour/colour and excellent stability, so is ideal for non-scented t-lights. Container candles: We recommend only using this wax for small container candles (6cm dia.) due to the high melting point and small melt pool produced as a result, for containers bigger than this, it would be recommended to test thoroughly and use more than one wick.  This wax works well with high fragrance levels (8% or higher), because the fragrance oils soften it, and it holds them well. From experience not every fragrance works, especially benzyl benzoate as a carrier is troublesome, so it would be advised to do some testing to see what works best. This wax would appeal to ‘high-end’ customers like fragrance houses / candle makers alike that need a neutral odour base wax with very good stability to oxidation. When tested we found it has a high melting point (50 Degrees Celsius) which could be considered high for large single-wick containers. However, this wax works well for smaller container candles or multi-wick candles. Again, testing in small batches would be recommended before working to a larger scale. We also see good results with combinations of this wax and a softer sunflower or rapeseed wax (Start Point 60% Rapeseed/Sunflower : 40% 660-55M), so this could be an option for larger single-wick containers. Advice: In general, lower pouring temperatures seem to be better; for this wax 55-60C is recommended – into containers at or slightly above room temperature. We appreciate that its sometimes necessary to  heat the wax to higher temperatures initially to incorporate colours, fragrances or other waxes. It would be best to resist pouring the wax immediately and let it cool slightly (with gentle stirring if needed) as this will yield the best results with less risk of frosting and surface defects.
