Built like a fortress, the Muralla Roja is an apartment complex, a modern interpretation of Mediterranean Arab architecture. Inspired by the North African kasbah tradition, Catalan architect Ricardo Bofill's labyrinthine building stands tall, creating a striking vertical silhouette in the landscape. Designed by Spanish architect Ricardo Bofill for client Palomar S.HAS. in 1968 and completely built in 1973, it was ranked among the "10 most emblematic works of Ricardo Bofill".
