These beautiful beads are made by Mariuxi and Pablo in their small family run workshop in Santo Domingo de los Tsachilas, Ecuador. The beads are made from tagua nut, a seed from a palm tree native to the South American rainforests. Tagua is an environmentally friendly and ethical alternative to animal ivory.
Lydia’s bespoke jewellery provides business for tagua artisans and donates 10% of profits to charities. These charities are meeting needs through education, housing, healthcare and business training in Ecuador.
