Founded in 1827 by Bélisaire Boissier, Maison Boissier soon opened boutiques in the most beautiful neighborhoods of Paris. Victor Hugo, a friend of the confectioner, lingered there with pleasure and elegant ladies flocked there to buy the famous candied chestnuts and the “Boule candies” with Montmorency cherries in their pretty powder compact-shaped boxes.
Inseparable from the Paris of the Belle Époque, the sweets and candies from Boissier contain part of its essence: gaiety, carefreeness and refinement. We come across them on a page of Émile Zola or Marcel Proust, and their cases are decorated by the best illustrators of the moment.
CONFECTIONERY'S SUSPENDED TIME
The years pass, and the memory of Maison Boissier Paris fades like a dream... The sleeping beauty was awakened in 2000 by Sylvie Douce and François Jeantet, founders of the famous Salon du Chocolat, determined to restore its former glory. Thanks to them, it is entering the 21st century with ease, with exceptional expertise.
Drawing on its rich heritage, it now offers gourmets a dreamlike and colorful journey between past and present. Its candies, chocolates and other sweets are made in an artisanal way and from natural products.
MAISON BOISSIER, THE FINE CREAM OF PARISIAN CONFECTIONERY AND CHOCOLATE MAKER
Presented in boxes and packaging with a delightfully old-fashioned charm (reissued from the Maison's archives), Boissier confectionery is an ode to fruits and flowers. In all colors and flavors, Boule candies, fruit pastes, marshmallows, Celestial Pearls, sugared almonds, flowery or fruity chocolate petals make heads spin. The essential candied chestnuts come from several regions (Ardèche, Piedmont, Campania).
