Malàkio is an eco-design house of decorative objects and tableware, made from recycled seashells. Inspired by the raw beauty of the seabed, we create pieces with a unique character, combining durability, design and craftsmanship.
Founded in 2020 by Hugo and Morgan, the company is based in Nantes, where all of our production is handmade in our workshop.
The shells we use are collected from Breton and Norman restaurants, producers and fishmongers, then transformed using a process without cooking, without solvents or VOCs — a responsible alternative to traditional materials, which are often harmful to the environment. Since our launch, more than 70 tonnes of shellfish have been repurposed.
Our approach aims to support the local and artisanal economy, while minimizing our carbon footprint at each stage of production. This commitment has enabled us to equip more than 90 stores in France today with our range of decorations, tableware and furniture.
