The olive tree plays the leading role on this stage, both in the scenery and in the history of the land. It is here on the farm inherited in 1996 from her father, don Francesco Colonna, that Marina Colonna's extra virgin olive oil came to life. Masseria Bosco Pontoni is near San Martino in Pensilis, 120 meters above sea level. There are 180 hectares of olive groves, cereals and vegetable crops.
The origins of the relationship between an ancient Roman family and this farmland on the border between Molise and Puglia dates back to the beginning of the 1800s. The Duchess Cattaneo di Sannicandro married Aspreno Colonna and with the bride came the land as part of her dowry.
The extra virgin olive oils, coming from the different cultivars of our olive trees and milled in our own oil mill, through the two-phase technique with cold milling, have been marketed in foreign niche markets since 1986, especially in the following countries: the United Kingdom , Northern/Central Europe, USA, Canada, Japan, Australia and New Zealand.
The range includes the "Classic" blend, the Dop selection, the Peranzana monovarietal selection, the organic extra virgin olive oil selection and the latest addition: Molensis, an oil that stands out for its organoleptic characteristics.
The production of citrus oils dates back to 1990. They are obtained from the milling of freshly harvested olives together with organic citrus fruits: Granverde (lemon), Orange, Mandarin, Bergamia (bergamot), Tulsi (basil), Aromatico (cardamom) and Ginger (ginger). The oils obtained by infusion, started later, they are: Peperoncino, Mustard, RosaOliva (rose), Cinnamon (cinnamon), Truffle, Sage, Juniper (juniper) and “Rose of Mary” (rosemary).
There is also an important selection of table olives.
We can also offer our oils in "private labels".
In addition to the production chain, the company is also involved in the tourism sector with a delightful historic apartment that is made available to guests and visitors. We also organize events, guided tours, product tastings and various cultural activities.
