It is a translucent crystalline paste, in which specks or crystals of copper with bright metal oxides are immersed, which create an effect that imitates that of aventurine quartz. Called "Avventurina" because even the most expert Murano glassmaker found it very difficult to create it, making it was a real adventure hence its name.
