Dried Sultan chickpeas 400 gr from gluten-free biodynamic agriculture

The smooth chickpea "Sultano" is a cultivar of the "cicer arietinum", an annual herbaceous plant of the legume family originating from the Middle East and cultivated since time immemorial throughout the Mediterranean basin.   It has small smooth seeds of a spherical shape and a straw yellow color with notable organoleptic qualities, due to the variety, the cultivation method and above all the soil in which they are produced. 

It clearly distinguishes itself from others that can commonly be found on the market. 

Important for their supply of proteins with high nutritional value, they are very rich in starch, vitamins A and C and also contain good quantities of fibre, calcium and iron.   The Sultano cultivar has the peculiarity of cooking quickly and has a thin skin which allows it to be the most digestible of legumes.

Boiled they can be enjoyed alone simply seasoned with extra virgin olive oil and, finally, they can be the protagonists in oriental cuisine preparations, such as falafel and hummus.   The addition of Mediterranean scents such as rosemary, garlic and bay leaf give each preparation a delicate and unmistakable aroma and taste.
