Brass is a project by friends who share a passion for excellent wines and sustainable winemaking. The aim is to present a wine collection that has been developed under optimal conditions and reflects the natural environment in the wine. Our grapes are processed where they grow gently to ensure first-class quality at all times and to save on unnecessary transport routes.
In short: Brass combines quality and sustainability.
Winemaker Hubert and sommelier Raphael meet at a wine fair in 2018. Both of them already know each other briefly and agree to have dinner together to round off the day at the trade fair. At dinner, Hubert gives deep insights into the wine industry, which is struggling with serious problems.
This includes the fact that family-run and ecologically working wineries can hardly withstand the price pressure on the market, because cheap industrial wine is sold at dumping prices. In addition, it has become visibly difficult for the consumer to recognize what distinguishes artisanal wine from the winemaker. At dinner, the idea of creating a wine brand that creates transparency, is creative and combines the two essential values of quality and sustainability comes up.
From now on, top German wines from organic cultivation will be produced under the “Messing Weine” label in cooperation with
family-run wineries.
