One Man Band Red 2019, IONA, tannic and spicy red wine

This tannic and spicy red wine, produced by Iona, comes from the Highlands, a unique sub-region of Elgin located on a mountain plateau 420 meters above sea level, overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. 
It is one of the freshest terroirs in South Africa.
 Vinification and aging: From an intriguing blend, produced by natural fermentation with prolonged maceration in steel tanks followed by pressing, spontaneous malolactic fermentation and aging for 12 to 16 months, in oak barrels French 500L (20% of which are new), this wine combines fruity, freshness, power, and a beautiful tannic grip.
 Tasting notes: – Appearance: Ruby red color. –Nose: Aromas of black cherry and peppery spices. –Palate: On the palate, the fruit is really well defined, it has a nice freshness and a nice tannic grip. 
In the finish, there is a gentle acidity and long notes of beef broth.
 Aging potential: 7 to 10 years Recommended serving temperature: 16-18°C Recommended consumption: Open and air at least 1 hour before tasting.
