Yiannoudi 2020 – FIKARDOS – ample and delicious red wine

DESCRIPTION: This full-bodied and delicious red wine is produced by Fikardos, a family-run estate located in the Paphos wine region of Cyprus, whose aim is to create wines that reveal the true character of Cyprus. Vinification and aging: The grapes are macerated in contact with the skins for 8 days, and alcoholic fermentation is carried out at 22-24°C, followed by malolactic fermentation. Finally, the wine is aged for 11 months in oak barrels to soften its tannins and develop its aromatic complexity and its aging potential. Tasting notes: – Appearance: Medium intensity ruby red color. –Nose: Beautiful aromatic complexity with aromas of black fruits (black cherry, black plum, blackberry, blackcurrant), spices (vanilla, clove and nutmeg), accompanied by toasted notes, tobacco and liquorice. –Palate: It is ample and delicious, powerful but perfectly balanced, with a silky texture and very present ripe fruit flavors, which persist over the length. Aging potential: > 10 years Recommended serving temperature: 16-18°C Recommended consumption: Open and air at least 1 hour before tasting.
