According to the average rate of graphomotor development, between the ages of 2.5 and 3 the child starts to draw lines, zigzags and dashes. Later he or she starts drawing horizontally, vertically, diagodiagonally, then draw simicircles and finally a circles. By the age of 3, the child can make circular hand movements, draw crosses, circles, squares- which forms the basis for future drawing. The animal shaped chalkboards encourage children to draw.
