Orange & garnet Heaven rug

The Heaven carpet collection highlights the traditional know-how of Badohi weavers in the province of Uttar Pradesh.  The designs are inspired by the changing skies of the New Mexico desert and borrow from the gradients of Georgia O’Keefe’s paintings.  Like paintbrushes, the wool threads are woven like on a canvas thanks to the expertise of our artisan weavers.   The yarns are made from natural New Zealand wool, selected for its softness.They are hand-spun to provide the ideal thickness and then manually dyed in our colors by our artisan dyers.   To create the effect of color gradients, 3 threads are dyed separately then skillfully interwoven together with an expert gesture.   The threads are woven by hand on our wooden looms.  The carpet is washed using an ecological neutral pH soap then dried in the open air.  It is then brushed by hand to obtain the desired soft appearance.The edges are biased by hand.   These different artisanal techniques preserve an ancestral culture and make each rug a unique piece.   DimensionsDimension: 170 x 240 cm Runners and custom sizes on request.
