All this, with the aim of creating the men's wardrobe par excellence, we called it the sustainable wardrobe and it is based on 3 pillars.
1/ Beautiful basics like no other
We think about our collections in the form of an ideal wardrobe. And a perfect wardrobe is full of beautiful basics that we enjoy wearing and that accompany us in our daily life as men: they give us confidence for a super important presentation at the office, give us style for a slightly dressed evening. or are just super comfortable for our cool weekends.
Ok, so that's the definition of a basic. A basic Momen is the same thing but better! Better because they are created in the finest materials, with the most sought-after know-how and with just the small details needed to make a beautiful garment, a garment that you no longer want. leave !
Because in fact, that's what durable clothes are: pieces that you want to wear all the time and above all keep for a long time.
2/ Exceptional know-how
People are at the heart of our process, and more particularly their know-how. We have a passion for craftsmanship, for the work of these men and women who pass on techniques, often ancestral, to make beautiful, robust and stylish clothes.
We got closer to European workshops and around the Mediterranean basin to meet their men and women specialists in shirts, chinos, knitwear... Real artisans, who know their trade like the back of their hands and who are happy to share it.
These craftsmen are Jean-Luc, for example, the manager of the workshop in Drôme where your Momen Parka was made. So there, speaking of know-how… Each parka is made by hand, completely seamless, with laser cutting and ultrasonic heat sealing! Almost a work of art, moreover each parka is numbered ;)
Each Momen garment has its little manufacturing secrets, thanks to expert professionals. Result of clothes with impeccable cuts, robust and that we enjoy wearing because we know that the person behind has been respected in his work and valued in his know-how.
3/ Unusual materials
The material of a garment is essential! For its robustness and longevity, but also because it is what gives the piece a quickdraw, thanks in particular to the fall of the garment. There's nothing worse than an old polyester sweater that fluffs or slightly shiny pants because the material will not have stood up to machine washing... that can be found in major stores today!
Thanks to 15 years of experience in fabric sourcing, we have been able to identify the ideal material for each product and the place to go to find it to obtain the best quality. Whether it's a cotton fleece made in the purest Japanese tradition in a workshop with ancestral know-how, as is the case for your Momen sweatshirt; or a magnificent denim created by a hundred-year-old Italian House, holder of the little secret that makes ordinary denim exceptional denim (this time, you have to look at the Momen denim shirt) we did not hesitate to search, meet, test workshops around the world to find the perfect material each time.
Result: clothes of extreme quality, which we will keep for a long time and not buy back every 6 months.
It's hard work, because it's far from easy. We always have in mind to select the most eco-responsible materials possible, but the goal is longevity. A cotton, even organic, of poor quality, is a sweatshirt that will soften after a few months and it is therefore a sweatshirt that we will get rid of quickly.
And to be sure, we have our technique! Each item of clothing is tested in real conditions, for a long period of time and it undergoes several machine runs.
What do we mean by real conditions? This means, for example, that our prototypes made a hike under 2° with our Parka or even a super stressful presentation with our shirt. Any particular example? The Momen apron, the brand's totem garment, was tested by a restorer and a cabinetmaker for several months. Result: apron adopted!
