Bronze sculpture "Reading Woman" by Adama Ouedraogo 25 cm unique pieces different colors

This elegant bronze sculpture was created by Burkinabe artist Adama Ouedraogo. The woman reading is a symbol of learned and strong women in Africa.Working with bronze is a traditional craft in Burkina Faso. The term bronze refers to various alloys based on copper, zinc, lead and tin, the proportions of which vary. Today the bronze comes from the recycling of old fittings, such as taps or parts from air conditioning systems.The artist first creates a wax sculpture, which is covered with a sand mixture of clay and dung and dried. The mold is then boiled, the wax melts and escapes through the holes. The molten alloy is poured and takes the place of the wax.
