We have been carrying out this reflection since 2017, and it resulted in this solution at the end of 2019, which seems to us to be an alternative for the future, because it does not only involve the exclusive use of waste, but because it offers another way of conceiving society: sobriety, reparability, accessibility, open source and low-tech. Plastic waste becomes a resource, but it is not an end in itself. It is a question of using an existing resource without taking new ones, in order to depollute by producing durable and useful objects. The ideal is a society without waste and no longer producing it, operating in a circular economy at the local level. How are they made? - The corks are harvested in an ultra-short circuit, within a radius of a few kilometers around the manufacturing workshop located in Lyon. - They are then washed with water, then crushed into straws. - These are hot injected into a mold to obtain the sleeves. No other raw materials or chemicals are used, and no other steps are necessary! - Only two machines are used and they are made in France according to the Low-Tech philosophy. - The design and conception of this 100% recycled range are also thought out according to this philosophy: to use as little energy and raw material as possible and not to produce waste. - In addition, the injection sprues produced during the manufacture of the sleeves are put back into the loop to be crushed again and reused!
