The harvest of this resin is sustainable as only naturally excreted resin is collected. During the dry season, the plant naturally excretes this precious amber resin 'ÄöOmumbiri'Äô. The Himba women have traditionally used the resin for centuries as an ingredient in their perfume mixed with ocher as a body cream and of course as an incense resin. The aroma is wonderfully resinous-fresh, softly balsamic and slightly spicy. The scent of the Namibian Commiphora wildii is milder and less bitter than Commiphora myrrha.
