Depending on the type of meat used (e.g. young or older animal) and its condition, the contents of the can can vary. The muscle meat consists u. connective tissue containing collagen. Tendons and cartilage are also made of collagen. During cooking, this collagen very slowly turns into gelatine - that soft, slimy mass that is also known from cake glaze. This gelatine, in turn, is responsible for the meat not drying out, but becoming juicier the longer it cooks. Since we do not use binding agents at all, the consistency is subject to uncontrollable fluctuations. So if there is more meat broth or gelatine in the can, that has nothing to do with the quality. On the contrary, the dogs even love this slimy part. This is in the can: - Goose muscle meat: If a goose is well and properly fed - therefore organic - its meat contains about 1/3 fat. Organic and free-range animals are fed naturally, resulting in tasty meat with less fatty tissue. Nevertheless, goose fat is a good source of energy and has many important monounsaturated fatty acids and about 10 percent polyunsaturated fats such as omega-6 and omega-3 fatty acids. The darker meat color indicates a high proportion of the muscle protein myoglobin. The more an animal moves and the older it gets, the more of this iron-containing muscle pigment it produces, which is similar to the red blood pigment hemoglobin and stores oxygen in muscle tissue. Goose meat therefore contains significantly more of the important trace element iron than chicken meat. But also a large number of amino acids and vitamins (C, B and A) are present. - Goose necks (minced): they are very rich in protein and calcium. Calcium is an essential and very important mineral for dogs, as it is responsible for building bones and teeth. - Goose carcass (minced): the carcass is the body of the poultry - without legs and wings - and consists of breast, back and inner fillets as well as soft cartilage and skin residue. Cartilage provides calcium and is rich in natural collagen. Please note: Dogs with pancreatic insufficiency / pancreatic disease / pancreatitis should avoid goose meat if possible. Our pure meat should not be fed pure. On the one hand, because we put our philosophy to heart: "A clear conscience with every bite", and that means less meat in the bowl.
