Mazafati organic dates

We like to refer to the creamy, soft, aromatic Mazafati date as the “praline” of the dates. Under the firm, almost black skin, there is a pulp so tender that it almost melts on your tongue! On the edge of the Dasht-e-Lut desert in southeastern Iran, the date palms thrive at an altitude of over 1100m. There you will experience both dry and hot summers with temperatures of over 50 ° C as well as frosty and cold winter nights. Our Mazafati grow there in what is probably the most beautiful palm garden in the country. This is created by our farmer according to the principles of permaculture, whereby the aim is to make use of symbioses between nature, animals and humans. In the shelter of the house-high palm trees, citrus trees grow, which naturally keep insects and predators away from the dates by secreting their fragrances. The ground is covered with lupinias and grasses, which bind moisture in the earth and serve as food for goats, donkeys and sheep.
