It is perfectly adapted to arid conditions thanks to its deep roots which allow it to draw water from the deepest layers of the soil. The argan tree produces olive-shaped fruits that contain argan nuts, which are then used to produce argan oil. ֍ In the regions of Morocco where the argan tree is grown, goats are known to climb the trees to eat the argan fruit. This behavior has an impact on the production of argan oil. Goats that eat the argan fruits can damage the trees, which reduces the yield of argan nuts and affects the quality of the oil produced. To avoid this, local farmers are forced to build fences around their plantations. Despite this, the vision of goats climbing on argan trees is an emblematic scene of the regions of Morocco where argan is grown.
