Sulmona red garlic, also know as "Aglio Rosso di Sulmona" is probably the best garlic in the world. It was coultivated since centuries in the Abruzzo mountain region, surrounded by the Abruzzo National Park, the Maiella National Park, the Velino-Sirente Natural Park and the Gensana European Natural Reserve. It's unique, genuine and intense perfume gives an amazing aroma and flavour to the dishes. It is listed as a traditional Italian food product (P.A.T.) by the Italian Ministry of Agricultural, Food and Forestry Policies and as a "Slow Food Ark of Taste" product. The garlic cloves have a red tunica thanks to the sulfur compounds released from the soil and are very rich in essential oils, that give it many pharmacological proprieties.
