To feel, to feel. Smell, remember, inspire, react. From the exploration of the creation of perfumes to the perception of odors, this book addresses the question of olfaction in all its complexity. Composed of interviews with perfumers and texts by researchers, it accompanied two exhibitions in Lausanne: “Nez à nos. Contemporary perfumers” at mudac and “Quel flair! In these two Lausanne exhibitions, which took place from in 2019, olfaction is approached in a complementary way. If the mudac explores the field of the creation of perfumes, the UNIL-CHUV Hand Museum is interested in the perception of smells. Thus, this publication traces two ephemeral olfactory experiences and comes to enrich the aspects constrained to the only museographic context.
