Before being a spice, paprika is first and foremost a variety of pepper. Paprika, Sweet pepper, Pimenton or Pepper, are some of the names given to this fruit. In France, the term paprika more deliberately refers to the spice, in the form of a fine intense red powder. The term comes to us from the Hungarians who knew how to make the spice famous throughout the world, but it is the Spaniards who consume it the most for their dishes. We offer Sweet Paprika from two Spanish producers in our shop. These two sisters are the 3rd family generation to produce an authentic paprika according to traditional methods specific to Pimentón de la Vera AOC. We also offer their holm oak smoked paprika.
