Pepper from the Piper nigrum family harvested in the state of Kerala in India. Just like the wines, the grand crus of pepper are the characteristic of a particular terroir and a unique culture. In India, one of the best vintages is that of Tellicherry. Coming from the Malabar coast in India, more precisely from the port city of Thalassary (Tellicherry in English), it is one of the oldest species of pepper, and the most famous in the world. Characterized by fairly large grains, it is a delicate black pepper, quite sweet on the nose and subtly woody.
