It all started as a game between threads and sewing in my grandmother's workshop, when I was just a girl. Soon I felt that this would end up being my great passion. A few years later Nuevemí was born, which began as a place where you could play with fabrics creating pieces of clothing, to end up becoming a small brand of hair accessories.
From my small studio in Botánica, a creative coworking in Barcelona, I design, cut and make each one of the pieces, with the ingredients that I like the most: personality, femininity, color, fun and a touch of vintage romanticism. Making the turbans and all the pieces I make last over time is one of my main goals. For this reason, each piece carries a cotton bag made and printed one by one by me, for better conservation and to last for many, many years.
I love getting lost among the small shops in the city or warehouses with leftover stocks, you never know where you can find a great little treasure. Every corner of Barcelona is inspiration; each small store where you buy the materials is an adventure, which leads me to imagine what the next piece will be like.
The things that make me happy: an afternoon dancing swing, a walk under the January sun, a meeting with good friends, a rainy afternoon sewing...
