Embroidery is a traditional craft in Vietnam with a long history dating back to the 17th century. century. The art of embroidery is preserved in craft villages and passed down through generations in families. Some craftsmen began learning embroidery when they were 6 to 7 years old from older craftsmen. In the past, local artisans were chosen to produce sophisticated embroidered ritual items and costumes for the Vietnamese king, queen and other members of the royal family. Nowadays, the embroidery technique can be applied to various textile products in daily use, such as Ao Dai (Vietnamese traditional costumes), hair accessories, or home decoration.
Unfortunately, with the development of fast fashion, fewer people in our craft villages continue this traditional work. At Olala Mia, we believe that no modern machine can replace the sophisticated lines set by hand by talented craftsmen. With the desire to preserve and develop the embroidery villages, Olala Mia works with Vietnamese artisans to offer you the unique and beautiful products.
