The pioneer of this family business was the great-grandfather, Fotis Maragakis, who was the first to deal with the production of honey in the village of Mousouta, in the municipality of Minoa Pediada. The great-grandfather was a pioneer who used innovative techniques for his time. Specifically, he used fired clay beehives, the so-called "Tonflaskia", which date back to the Minoan period. This unique construction later sparked the creation of the modern beehive as we know it today.
