Oltresole organic hulled buckwheat, in the 5 kg convenience pack, is an atypical cereal also known as black wheat, belonging to the Polygonaceae family. Although it is often classified as a cereal, buckwheat does not belong to the Graminaceae family. Its seeds, rich in vegetable proteins, B vitamins and essential minerals such as iron, selenium, potassium, phosphorus, copper and zinc, represent an important nutritional resource. ​ Oltresole hulled raw buckwheat is ideal for traditional dishes such as soups, but also for more special preparations such as pizzoccheri or polenta taragna. Its versatility in the kitchen also makes it suitable for preparing baked goods, perfect for those looking for authentic and tasty flavours. ​ Buckwheat does not require soaking. Simply rinse them under running water, cook them in plenty of salted water (proportion 1 part buckwheat and 2 parts water) for about 20-30 minutes, until the water has been completely absorbed.
