The story of how Katherine Swift founded OMGTea is both compelling and unique.
When her mum was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer in 2010, she wanted to do something to help and became involved in a major donor appeal for a breast cancer charity. It was there that she was introduced to some fascinating research on the power of antioxidants when it came to fighting disease. She knew green tea was high in antioxidants and wanted her mum to drink the best out there. It was then that she discovered matcha. Katherine and her mum started drinking it together and felt great. Not only because of the physical benefits but also because they felt they were taking some control back and doing something positive. Katherine felt so passionate about matcha that she started OMGTea four years later.
