Native to Madagascar, lemurs are small, highly social primates that can weigh up to 9 kg. Their name derives from the lemurs, which in Roman mythology were ghosts or spirits, because of their vocalizations but also their light-reflecting eyes and their nocturnal habits. The lemur mainly consumes fruits and leaves, however this diet can vary from one species to another.
