Aged in Bourbon casks. One year finish in Irish oak barrels. The barrels are made from 130 year old trees felled in the mountains around the distillery. This is a major milestone for Irish whiskey: a mainstream single cask whiskey that puts the flavors of Irish oak within everyone's reach. Trees are sustainably felled as part of a forest management system ensuring the cover and health of these forests in the future - 7 saplings are planted for every oak felled. Each bottle is numbered and traceable to the lot, barrel, tree and forest where it comes from. Nose: Smooth and lemony with vanilla, toffee, banana, molasses, with earth, herbal undertones of oak spice and leather. Taste: Oily, warm and buttery, malt and spices, caramel pears, molasses, cinnamon, nutmeg and toasted tannic oak. Finish: Long on creamy vanilla, almonds, berries and toasted Irish oak. Recipe: Malted and unmalted barley Distillation: distilled three times in the same distillery, Charentais copper still. 43% alc / vol
