Heaven's Door Whiskey - Straight Rye

Heaven's Door Straight Rye whiskey is aged for seven years in new charred American oak barrels. Small departure from tradition, the whiskey is then transferred to "cigar" barrels of Vosges oak dried in the open air, where it finishes for an additional 6 months. This unique technique is unique to Heaven's Door and has never been used before in the making of whiskey. The result is a smoother, more accessible rye whiskey that lets lemony and spicy notes shine and express itself. Tasting Notes: French oak "cigar" barrels naturally impart smooth, velvety characteristics to Heaven's Door Rye Whiskey, balancing the spicy nature of the rye. Unlike traditional barrels used for bourbon, “cigar” barrels are not charred, allowing the aromas of hand-heated oak to shine. Finish: Soft and accessible, lingering finish on notes of orange zest, coriander and spices. 7 years of age 43% alc / vol
