Pastacuita is a small artisanal company located in Barcelona. The project began in Argentina in 1997, when I started making and selling handmade jewelry at craft fairs in Buenos Aires to pay for my vacation.
¡I never imagined that what started almost as a game would end up being my job for more than twenty years!
We are now located in Barcelona, where the modern environment, combined with new techniques known in Europe, has allowed us to take a quantum leap in the development of original designs.
Our jewelry is handmade, primarily using polymer clay worked with different techniques such as “Millefiori,” “Mokume Gane,” varnishing, and particle alignment. Using these methods, we create different designs that are then mounted on plated pewter bases, always of the highest quality and hypoallergenic.
The Pastacuita workshop is made up of three permanent staff. Carmen and Raquel, who can be considered the driving force and heart of the company, assemble the pieces with patience and skill, mix the resins, and, above all, plan the designs for each season. And then there's me, Mariano, the lead designer and founder of the company. My work consists of creating complex compositions using different techniques to arrange colors and make custom pieces.
