The landscapes of the Arcachon Basin are inseparable from these strange wooden “sculptures” planted in the water; here they are called Pignots (the T is pronounced). What are pignots? Planted on the sandy-muddy bottom of the Arcachon Basin, in lines or squares, these large wooden stakes are used to mark out and demarcate oyster beds. In Gascon, the word "pinhòt" is used to designate the trunk of a young maritime pine; over time, "pinhòt" became "pignot" (in the north of the Basin, we also speak of "lattes"). - This poster is printed in high definition, by local professionals certified Imprim’vert & PEFC. -Sold without a frame, to allow you to choose the frame that best suits your interior decoration.
