The story.
In 2013, I was looking for an idea of a product from Normandy "underworked" to put or put back in the spotlight and to offer to my customers, first of all, in the store.
Leo, from Northmaen, in our regular exchanges, says to me: "You, you should offer 'alcohol' to your customers, run a bar...". Go find out why!
My product idea was more inspired by the sweet: cookie, jam…. I have a sweet tooth! I can't find anything, I'm doing all kinds of tests, but really nothing to complain about! I certainly won't do better. And then...
Why ? I do not know ! I tell myself why not make arranged Calvados. There is no such thing. Therefore, I go to meet 2 producers, with whom I already work, and I tell them about my idea; the conclusion of these exchanges: no enthusiasm, no vision of the product, not interested. So, I start in my corner to “flavor” Calvados with recipes similar to that of arranged rum.
In 2014, I created 24 samples, all different. I bring together, 3 times, a dozen people for a blind tasting, during Sunday afternoon, of my preparations. The result is final. Good news: no one is sick, everyone is alive. Bad news, it's a total disappointment: the taste of Calvados is not there, too sweet, too alcoholic, too much of this, not enough of that, you should put this or that... I myself am disappointed.
What to do ? I leave all that aside, although the name is already found and registered. This arrangement will be called Pom' Pom': apple with apple.
