Pastora was born in Elda, a town in Alicante with a deep-rooted shoemaking tradition. His family roots are in Andalusia, so he spent his childhood on the eastern coast of the Mediterranean. Pastora has been linked to the Spanish shoe industry for more than 30 years. His curiosity for design and art in all its forms borders on the compulsive; her passion means keeping abreast of how the creative world evolves around her. For this reason, the result of Pastora's work is fiercely traditional as well as avant-garde. Pastora started POQ as a personal project, moved by the lack of art and excellence that the jute footwear sector was suffering. POQ has become an namesake, an embodiment of its values.
