The red spot

The story : A little boy lives happily, but one day a red spot appears in his life. He will try to erase it, to ignore it, to camouflage it, but nothing works, this stain is there in his life... How to live with it? For who : This is a tale that speaks to both adults and children. To talk about resilience with children from 5 to 11/14 years old. In regards to : How to deal with a problem? "So, for the first time, he dared to look the stain straight in the eye." Creativity and inventiveness play an important role in an individual's capacity for resilience. Childhood is the ideal playground for cultivating creativity and exploring the many avenues offered by an imagination unfettered by cultural conventions. It is through creativity that this little boy will smile again after seeing his calm and peaceful life invaded by a red stain. But before finding this inventive solution, he will go through many emotions: anger, sadness, discouragement, denial... The metaphor of the red spot speaks to children who can experience it concretely through drawing, but also to the older ones who often end the story by questioning the nature of their own red spot. The talent of Pierre Hedrich is to have proposed a metaphor which applies as well to the small ones as to the big tests of the life.
