As early as 1830 - long before the invention of the light bulb - Price's Patent Candles Ltd. with the manufacture of candles.
Price's Candles dominated the night light market early on and advanced to become the largest candle manufacturer in the world by the end of the 19th century.
At that time, the company was able to produce inexpensive stearin candles that burned just like expensive beeswax candles.
Price's Candles patented this success and over time owned a total of 114 patents for their inventions.
The long and close relationship with the British royal family was marked by the introduction of a composite candle - on the occasion
