Health benefits of Cocoa powder Cocoa powder contains flavanols, a type of flavonoid which help prevent and protect against heart disease by lowering blood pressure, improving blood flow and preventing cell damage. Cocoa powder also contains polyphenols, antioxidants that help to improve cholesterol and blood sugar levels and reduce the risk of heart disease. How is it made? The cocoa beans are grown by ourselves in rural farms and carefully selected for processing. The beans are exposed to temperatures between 110°C and 140°C after which are chilled and shelled resulting in cocoa nibs which are then grinded to a fine mass to obtain the cocoa liquor in order to be pressed, separated and pulverised into cocoa powder. Product arrives in 25 kg craft paper bags per unit.
