REMI LANDIER - A FAMILY PRODUCING SINGLE CRU COGNAC FINS BOIS - Est 1890
Heritage, and Terroir
This captivating narrative unfolds as Rémi's great-great-grandfather, inspired by the ancient Benedictine monks (18th), plants the first vines in the Fins Bois cru. The vision: to distill a cognac that encapsulates the terroir's timeless sagacity.
Today managed by the 5th generation of the Landier’s family, Géraldine Landier, granddaughter of Rémi, the historical vineyards are situated in the old “Premier Bois,” today known as “Fins Bois” a south-west facing slope in the hamlet of Cors, about 10 km from Jarnac. This area, unlike the chalky soil of Grande Champagne, boasts limestone and clay, creating a unique harmony valued by Benedictine monks in 18th century.
In 1890, the Landier’s family settled in Cors, planting their first vineyard. Today, Rémi Landier Cognacs are renowned for Fins Bois elegance, thanks to the special location, or "terroir," and artisanal skills passed down through generations.
Craftsmanship through generations
Grapes are meticulously chosen at their zenith. The chalky soil imparts a distinctive minerality, while oceanic breezes bestow a gentle coastal embrace. Rémi, a custodian of tradition, learns the sacred craft from his father—a legacy traversing epochs.
The Ugni Blanc grapes undergo a ballet of double distillation in copper pot stills, aging, a symphony of patience and wood, transpires in oak barrels chosen for their ageless wisdom.
Oak barrels, chosen with the acumen of the ages, cradle the precious distillate in the hallowed sanctums of the Landier cellars. Time itself whispers its sagacious tales into the liquid, creating an intricate tapestry of flavors and aromas.
From the spirited vivacity of their VS to the profound opulence of the XO, each bottle is an eloquent soliloquy to the land, the heritage, and the unswerving commitment to the craft.
The Pax spirits
The “PAX” emblem is a Benedictine coat of arms meaning “peace” in Latin from the original farm, built in the 18th century by the monks of the Royal Abbey of Bassac, that Rémi Landier acquired in the middle of the 20th century. The monks had set up a distillery there and produced the first eaux-de-vie from this exceptional terroir.
Pax collection includes various expressions, each carefully composed and crafted. The notes provide references to provenance, age, and other descriptors. The Landier constantly seeks perfection, facing challenge and embodies passion, love, and shared experiences, resulting in exceptional cognacs.
To produce this unique Pax collection, the Landier family has cultivated relationships in the Cognac region, particularly with other growers and distillers. The Landier leverages these connections to select distinctive cognacs, creating blends akin to a musical orchestration.

Capuchin Life style “French-style” aperitif
The Rémi Landier House gave birth to CAPUCIN two years ago, a slightly bitter French aperitif, designed and developed by Jean-Yves Landier and his daughter, Géraldine, the fourth and fifth generations. Jean-Yves drew on the memories of his childhood in the countryside to concoct an aperitif he had often dreamed of, a liqueur that would be the confluence of a Pineau des Charentes, a vermouth, and a bitter. After several years of research, he found the ideal formula that will delight our taste buds.
This aperitif is a complete innovation, a low ABV liquor at 18%, very tasty that you appreciate on its own chilled or in cocktails. It is a great asset to the range with a natural product based on grapes that Landiers knows the best to work with.
