Hello!

I am Ren Ellery and I am a designer and illustrator who uses fabric and stitch to create unique pet portraits.

Originally inspired by my love of beagles, I now create a range of appliqued and embroidered dogs, cats, popular pets and wildlife on a range of textile products.

My bespoke portraits of pets are created using hand cut fabrics which I then add stitched lines and texture to using my sewing machine as a pencil. I cut each piece of fabric to create each unique portrait, then add stitched lines by eye, without the use of templates or tracing. The compositions, use of space and shape lead to beautiful pet portraits that are intricately detailed and filled with character. It is a time consuming process but the final results are then both unique and totally personal.

A range of wooden decorations, cards and prints sit alongside my pet portraits. These feature my fun and quirky pet characters.
