Explode the ceiling

The measures adopted in recent years by the public authorities to reduce inequalities and promote diversity have so far failed to break the “glass ceiling”. But the world is changing. Minority people, because of their “sex”, their “race”, or some other “non-conformity”, raise their voices higher and louder. They reveal the physical, psychological and epistemic violence that is exercised against them on a daily basis. In doing so, they develop a critical and creative imagination that paves the way for new stories. These are deployed in the private sphere as well as in the public space and are gaining ground in our artistic and media representations. The world of arts and culture is particularly affected by these tensions. It can also become a powerful engine of change for society as a whole.
