Documented by scientific works and studies, the possibility of major disasters – ecological, social and economic – has imposed itself in the minds of the public. Thus, 65% of French people agree with the statement that “civilization as we know it today will collapse in the years to come”. However, the political class and the economic world continue overwhelmingly to rely on the gods of growth, ignoring the physical limits of our planet and the natural laws that guarantee the prosperity of life. The resulting cognitive dissonance has driven us into a wall. There is an urgent need to understand and adapt to this horizon. It is from this urgency that the initiative was born to question the ten greatest "thinkers" of the collapse: Isabelle Attard, Carolyn Baker, Nicolas Casaux, Yves Cochet, Nicolas Hulot, Derrick Jensen, Jean Jouzel, Arthur Keller, Vincent Mignerot and Pablo Servigne. Manon Commaret and Pierrot Pantel spent long hours with each other to collect not only their objective vision of this ongoing collapse, but also their intimate perception. All of them agreed to give themselves up with precision and sincerity. The result is fascinating: a book of interviews that offers complementary perspectives and subtle nuances on this subject, but also sheds light on the sometimes contradictory emotions that the conviction of an imminent collapse arouses.
