IN PEACE LIES POWER: Valerian, also known as witch's herb, cat's weed or moonroot, naturally contains essential oils that are said to have certain calming and relaxing properties. These oils are mainly found in the rootstock. GROWING FRIENDLY: Valerian is characterized by rapid growth, so you should make sure that you give it enough space in your herb garden. This also makes it easier to harvest the valerian root later. Tip: The Baldiran plant gets along very well with marjoram or borage.
