A little forgotten today, this pretty flower nevertheless remains among the oldest known medicinal plants. Its name comes from the legendary Greek warrior, Achilles, who used the plant to heal Telephus' wound during the Trojan War, hence the name yarrow... Very common, it grows on embankments, meadows and roadsides in sunny, well-drained soils. The most active part of the plant are the flowering tops, which contain the essential oils secreted by the plant. Used internally, it is known to relieve digestive disorders (lack of appetite, bloating, pain, especially menstrual pain...).
