The question I am asked most often is how I came to make soap, to be a soap maker.
I can tell you that I have always aspired to make soaps, that soda and oil have eternally made me dream. That I spent endless time in an uncle's or aunt's bathroom that these smells transported me to an incredible world... What a beautiful story.
Seriously ? No. But then really not.
I'm Manuel Girones or Manu and I'm one of those who never really knew what he was going to do in their life, at least professionally.
So once the lessons were over I decided to travel the world. To discover elsewhere.
I traveled the planet, finally Europe, for ten years…
And I even found a not too bad temporary job in a big company in their finance department and then they kept me for 5 years.
Finances... Soaps... We agree, it's not too fitting, huh?
At the end I was responsible for "financial risk analysis" for clients in France, Luxembourg, Belgium and the Netherlands.
I started looking for a conversion.
And one day, I entered, I don't know why, in a soap factory. The idea started to germinate. I immediately liked it.
There was everything, chemistry, marketing, customer contact, business management… Everything.
And that, I liked it and it still captivates me. I am no longer specialized, I touch everything and I can manage my company from start to finish.
I was complete and in control of my means of production. This dimension of autonomy and independence is very important to me.
So I did some research on soap methods, cold, hot… I quickly found the method that suited me. Cold saponification.
So at the beginning I made my first soaps at home. I put it everywhere.
